23 March 2017, Singapore
The phenomenal growth in internet traffic combined with the rapid migration to cloud-based services in recent years is forcing a dramatic rethink of how data centres are connected. As such, OrisTel Systems organized an exclusive seminar, together with our valued technology partners – ADVA Optical Networking, Oscilloquartz, Resonant Networks, Smartoptics and ST Electronics (Info-Security), on the latest innovations in cloud and data centre interconnectivity (DCI), cybersecurity, synchronization and test solutions to gear our audience up for the next-generation Data Centres in the new cloud era, with DCI infrastructures that are scalable, efficient and secure.
More than 40 participants from Singapore’s major telecommunication services providers, data centre operators, banks and government agencies including M1, StarHub, Singapore Power Telecommunications, MyRepublic, Equinix Enterprise, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, Net One Systems, 1-Net Singapore, Bank of America Merill Lynch and more, attended the full-day seminar on 23 March 2017 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Topics covered included “Connectivity In A World of Data Centres” where ADVA shared its latest FSP3000 CloudConnect and its applications in core and metro data centre interconnect; “Synchronization & Performance Assurance Requirements for Data Centres” where ADVA-Oscilloquartz expanded on the pragmatic approaches for time delivery in data centres and financial markets. Resonant Networks, along with its partner Anritsu, covered data centre network trends, the various testing requirements under “Data Centre Assurance”. The afternoon session saw Smartoptics focusing on the concept of Open Data Centre Interconnectivity and designing open line solutions to enable data centre and enterprise customers as well as service providers to build cost efficient and open networks for today’s and future needs. The programme ended off in a engaging discussion where ST Electronics (Info-Security) shared about demystifying software-defined data centre and its cybersecurity applications.
We are happy to receive favourable feedback from participants that they have not only gained from the sharing of expertise of our partner speakers, but were also able to discuss their data centre interconnectivity concerns during the coffee breaks and lunch networking session. ADVA, Oscilloquartz, Resonant Networks and ST Electronics (Info-Security) also took the opportunity to showcase their latest range of products and solutions in DCI, synchronization and performance assurance, test measurements as well as cybersecurity solutions during these sessions.
