OrisTel Systems (OrisTel), together with our key technology partners – ADVA Optical Networking, Coriant, Smartoptics, Helkama, ip.access and Proxim Wireless, showcased the latest communication infrastructure solutions at CommunicAsia 2017, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. These respective solutions, both wired and wireless, form the communication infrastructure that connect the sensors to the respective control centres and headquarters, thereby enabling the Smart City applications and solutions. We also showcased the latest innovations in Data Centre & Cloud Interconnect solutions. The three-day event drew over 40,000 overseas and local trade visitors.

Latest Innovations in Data Centre & Cloud Interconnectivity

The new ADVA FSP 3000 CloudConnect™ is an all-new solution developed to meet stringent density, security and energy demands. It supports both Open Optical Line System (OOLS) hardware and OpenConfig protocols to support real best-in-breed networks. It can transport up to 25.6Tbit/s duplex capacity per fibre pair from a single rack, delivering 51.2Tbit/s of total throughput at 1.4Tbit/s per rack unit. Available in multiple configurations, including a four rack unit (4RU), ADVA’s Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) technology features the industry’s first true 400G single line card with no active backplane lock-in. There’s also no client port lock-in. As new Ethernet data rates emerge, they can be plugged straight in.

Coriant’s game-changing Groove™ G30 DCI Platform empowers cloud data centre and network operators in meeting the surging demand for high speed connectivity and cloud services. Purpose-built to deliver the programmable, high speed, secure bandwidth that cloud applications require, the Coriant Groove™ G30 DCI Platform offers best-in-class low power consumption (up to 70% lower power consumption), high density, and flexibility for data centre connectivity at the lowest total cost. The Groove G30 DCI Platform is an innovative 1RU modular transport solution that can be equipped as a muxponder terminal solution and as an Open Line System (OLS) optical layer solution. With open plug-and-play capabilities, the Groove G30 DCI Platform can be customized for the required application based on the installation of specific modules or sleds into the common Groove G30 chassis.

The Smartoptics M-Series marks a revolution in fibre optic networking solutions. M-Series is a unique 1U multiplexer platform that combines the simplicity of a passive multiplexer with the features of a more traditional transponder-based DWDM platform. A multiplexer with integrated channel monitoring, amplification and signal conditioning. It easily handles all of today’s data protocols up to 100Gbps per channel in a simple plug and forget approach. Corporate data centres, enterprises, and campus networks can now synchronously connect all of their storage and data traffic between sites with minimal complexity and signal latency.

The Smartoptics DCP-101 is a 100G transponder designed to simplify 100G networking and build capacity, without adding unnecessary cost or hardware. It allows the use of the popular QSFP28 on the input, and has a CFP output. This makes it possible to use smaller, more compact components but get the longer distance and DWDM connectivity of a larger, more complex system. DCP-101 has the lowest power consumption in the world of any 100G transponder and, at half the width of 19”, is also one of the smallest.

Best-in-Class LTE Access Points

ip.access’ S60 Access Point (AP) is a cost optimised indoor LTE small cell, targeted at enterprise environments such as small offices, home offices, retailers, and public spaces. The S60 delivers 4G coverage and capacity into mass-market environments, and can be installed directly by end users in an unmanaged deployment. With up to 150/50 Mbps LTE FDD performance, the S60 supports up to 32 active 4G users, depending on the product variant. Fully self-configuring, the S60 can be mailed out to end users, and simply requires power and ethernet to be connected for a plug-and-play installation experience. The S60 is housed in a compact all-plastic enclosure with internal antennas, which can be desk or wall mounted.

ip.access’ S62D AP is also a cost optimised indoor small cell, targeted at enterprise environments such as small offices, home offices, retailers, and public spaces. As a “dual mode” AP, it is available as LTE+LTE, LTE+3G or 3G+3G, with independent configuration for each internal unit enabling, for example, multi-band support in LTE. The S62D delivers 4G and 3G coverage and capacity into mass market environments, and can be installed directly by end users in an unmanaged deployment. With up to 150/50Mbps LTE FDD performance, each LTE unit supports up to 32 active users. Each 3G unit provides 21/5.75Mbps and 24 active users (option for 30). Flex and MOCN are supported for both LTE and 3G. The S62D is housed in a compact all-plastic enclosure with internal antennas, which can be wall, ceiling or desk mounted.

ip.access’ low-cost nanoLTE R60 with flexible backhaul options helps operators meet coverage obligations in remote areas where Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) is low. The R60 has up to 2x5W output power with a range of up to 10km. To provide mobile internet access to users, the R60 provides standard support for LTE data services. It is optimised for high-latency backhaul links and uses RTP multiplexing in both directions for improved efficiency, as RTP packets can be shared by multiple simultaneous data streams. The R60 can be deployed with a range of different backhaul options including satellite, WiMAX, point to point microwave or DSL. The R60 can be deployed over satellite in many different places including remote rural locations, ships and aircraft. In remote locations where provision of power can be a significant part of the deployment cost, the R60 is optimized to use the minimum power to provide the required coverage. For example, the R60 is suitable for use with solar powered systems.

Proxim’s new carrier-class, ultra-high capacity Tsunami Quickbridge® (QB) 10100 series of products represents Proxim’s highest speed PTP products, supporting up to 633 Mbps of data throughput. The useable throughput is achieved with a mere 866 Mbps of RF data rate, delivering an industry-leading 73% efficiency.

Proxim’s Tsunami Multipoint 825 CPE is a feature rich CPE designed for the carrier, service provider and WISP market. The low-cost outdoor form factor is ideal for large-scale wireless deployments suitable for all last-mile broadband wireless access deployments.

This CPE is also feature rich with a carrier-grade prioritization platform supporting multiple service classes that can prioritize voice, video and data applications over the widest range of operating frequencies. It is an all-in-one CPE with security and gateway features, with 50Mbps or 100Mbps of throughput with maximum data rates of 300Mbps.

New Innovation to Implement Networks with Improved Efficiency & Quality at Lower Cost

Helkama Hybrid Solution offers the fastest way to set up wireless network with its factory preassembled solution based on hybrid cable, tower top distribution solution as well as jumpers and installed connectors according to case-specific requirements.

The solution is future-proof and expandable, ideal for indoor or outdoor, for buildings, monopoles, towers and other places. With only one single cable and distribution solution to install, this translates to shorter installation time, less weight, installation space and wind-load.

Helkama is also able to customize a tower/site specific design for a solution, based on the actual case details from customers. As an example, a 6 Remote Radio Unit (RRU) solution would have 50% less weight and up to 30% less wind-load when compared to a separate cabling case. The huge savings in cabling space together with weight savings translate into opportunity to reach significantly higher tower utilizations at existing sites.
